![]() Looking effortlessly cool as ever in his trademark baggy sweats, and accompanied by a trio of scantily clad ladies for the slow groove 'I Wanna F*** You', Snoop Lion proved that live, he's still a pro at the top of his game, new direction or not. Amongst the new musical offerings like the chorally beautiful 'No Guns Allowed', the hip hop maestro still performs his most beloved hits of old, such as the infectious bass hooks of 'Next Episode', and the arms-in-the-air classic, 'Ain't Nothin' But A G Thing'. Snoop Lion still delivers an awesome live show, and at the Fraunfeld Switzerland open-air show, he knew exactly what the fans were after. This change in musical direction does make sense, considering he's currently as one of the most successful rappers in history, a very different life from his West Coast gangster beginnings- and regardless of the scepticism for his claims of his change in direction stemming from his 'being Bob Marley reincarnated', the fact that he's evolving and still making music that reflects where he's at, is certainly admirable. A Doggy Dogg no longer, Snoop's recent epiphany and conversion to the Rastafari movement following a trip to Jamaica last year has signalled a new direction for the gangsta rap-turned reggae pioneer, now calling himself Snoop Lion (but, let's face it, still known as Snoop Dogg by most).
